Wyoming Perkins' “Unaffected” by Corporate Bankruptcy

A June 13th article written in the Wyoming Business Report indicated that “Perkins and Marie Callender's Inc., owner of the Perkins and Marie Callender's restaurant chains, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in a Delaware court” Monday.

Sugarland Enterprises of Sheridan, which owns all Wyoming Perkins Restaurant and Bakery locations, is not among those filing for Chapter 11, says spokesman Troy Baker.

Baker explains that the reason for the bankruptcy on the corporate level is because of Marie Callender's.

One might think that filing for Chapter 11 means that will hang over a business for several years, but in this case, it's a restructuring issue with stores around the country -- again, not including Wyoming's.

Sugarland Enterprises owns and operates, as a franchisee, Perkins Restaurant and Bakeries in Sheridan, Gillette Casper, Laramie and Cheyenne.

Less Than Two Years Out of Bankruptcy, General Motors Continues Winning Ways

SUGAR LAND--May 10, 2011--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)-- General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) (Detroit, Michigan) has shown an incredible resilience during the last two years. When the automaker entered bankruptcy protection in the summer of 2009, many thought that GM could only survive as a shadow of its former self. However, GM emerged from bankruptcy as a streamlined organization that was ready to do battle in the highly competitive automotive marketplace. GM, thus far, has not reverted to the principles that caused its demise less than two years ago; rather it has taken advantage of the fresh start it was given and has not looked back. GM has shown a profit for five straight quarters, each better than the last, culminating with the first quarter of 2011, when the automaker tripled its profits from only a year ago.
