I shall say a prayer for Trouble, the dog, if I can remember how to pray. That’s an idea for another Forbes list: Best prayers. My favorite is from the movie, HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS. “Dear Lord, we ask that you bless this food to the nourishment of our bodies. And we ask forgiveness, Lord, for the fornication that Mr. Sprock and me committed this morning on this very table.”

Girl Friday is about being everything at once: at Forbes that means sticking to the ForbesWoman beat while finding moments and mental space for startups, celebrity gossip and the occasional political sex scandal. What (I hope) you'll find here: a witty take on current events, a youthful eye on women's career issues and a somewhat jaded approach to relationship reporting. Most recently I helped put a reality star on the cover of Forbes Magazine and pissed off the entire gluten-intolerant community. I'm fine with both. Prior to Forbes I was at the Philadelphia CityPaper, where I learned more than any girl ever needs to know about the city's seedier trades. I studied digital journalism at The University of The Arts.

Ziva is so named because she is so beautiful with the prettiest dark eyes just like the actress Cote Pablo from NCIS. She is one of our favorite characters from our favorite show. My daughters think they are princesses thought on actually thinks she is Queen and when Ziva came into our lives, the made their opinions know that Ziva would not be the princess. We were looking for the best girl dog names so, I named her Contessa. Natalia is a great aunts name and Ziva is as graceful as a ballerina.


Ziva is a real Diva, however, she is not prissy. She loves to go outside to romp and play. She sits very regal on the back of the couch to survey her kingdom. Ziva and I know she is the true Queen and rules, we just let the others think they do. Ziva looks out the window at the cars and passersby. She also takes note of all the house hold activities. She communicates well when she wants something. She tells us when an outside trip is needed and food replenished. She will even talk to you as if talking but it actually sounds like a meow.

She does this especially after we come home from somewhere and she is coming to greet us home. She know she has us wrapped. And we let her because she provides with so much love, comfort and enjoyment. I don't know what I did before with out her in my life.
