Magazine editors to give free decorating advice
Better Homes and Gardens editors will be giving mini design consultations to folks wanting to jazz up a room in their home.
Homemakers Furniture in Urbandale is sponsoring the free consultations with Joseph Boehm, a senior projects interior designer at Meredith Corp., and Lacey Howard, a group editor at Meredith's Better Homes and Gardens' Special Interest Media Home Design department.
The pair will be at Homemakers from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday near the store's treat center. Howard and Boehm will offer homeowners who bring in room pictures some design suggestions. Consultations will be based on a first-come, first-served basis. Prizes will also be awarded.
Howard oversees the design and style direction for Renovation Style, Do It Yourself, Decor, Cottage Style, Tuscan Style and Country French magazines . She also has appeared on DIY Network's "Sweat Equity" program.
Boehm helped select furniture for the Better Homes and Gardens collection. His background includes art history and period furnishings.
