Beth Huntley is an agent with Dunes Properties. The South Carolina native has been involved in real estate since 2004.

Before that, she spent close to 20 years as an interior designer with her own business. After receiving an interior design degree from The Savannah College of Art and Design, she started her professional career in Hilton Head Island. She worked on an array of high end, residential projects as interior designer.

Huntley, who lives in Charleston, is a board member of Lowcountry Local First, board advisor to Green Wizard Inc. and member of the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors and of the American Society of Interior Designers.

She has served as chairperson for The Sustainability Institute of SC, Coastal Association chair of the ASID, past president of the Center for Women and Corporate Sponsorship chair for The Gibbes Museum of Art.

Agency to team up on cleaning oceanfront

Properly attired and bags in hand, Century 21 Properties Plus Inc. agents are sweeping the Isle of Palms beach once a month to help keep the shore tidy.

The first “beach sweep” was set for this past Friday 3-4 p.m.

“In the spirit of community, we wish to keep our local Isle of Palms 'blue wave' beach clean and green,” says Becky Eakle, sales manager.

“Every summer families travel to our local shores to enjoy the sandy beaches, boating, swimming and all the pleasures the Charleston area has to offer.

“Our office and agents feel the ‘C21 Beach Sweep’ activity will become one of our continuing signature efforts to help support the communities we serve,” she says.

Manned with collection bags, bright yellow T-shirts and balloons, the C21 group meets at a pre-determined point to “sweep” the beach. The clean-up will be held monthly. Additional sweeps will be arranged if necessary.

“Our office has enjoyed working with the Administration and Public Works Department of the city of Isle of Palms and greatly appreciates their support of this effort,” Eakle says.

The Isle of Palms beach was been named a “Blue Wave” beach by the Clean Beaches Coalition in 2010, marking the eighth year in a row that the city received the certification. It means the beach meets specific criteria related to cleanliness, safety and access to the public, according to Century 21 Properties Plus.
