Hitachi GST plugs MLC flash into Ultrastar drives

Single-Level Cell (SLC) flash is generally better to search for information that multi-level cell (MLC), because it is a simpler structure for the drive controller to navigate. However, it is also more expensive. Hitachi GST SLC uses technology in its range of SSD400S Ultrastar drives.

SSD400M Ultrastar drives are able to connect to devices via a 6Gbps Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) or Fibre Channel 4 Gbps. SAS is a standardized storage protocol used to move data between devices. Multiple SAS devices can be daisy-chained together, making the protocol useful for connecting peripherals as well as in large networks.

Fox believes that the discs will be used for server and storage virtualization as well as "the management of large data - metadata, indexing and that sort of thing."

I have 3 desktops, laptops and 2, and I wonder if these big portable hard drives can run more than one computer.

I heard they use an OP / confirmation which would only recognize a computer, however I have a small portable hard drive that does not have such a program / payment.

There may be some confusion here between the different technologies, so I'll break a little.

If you are looking to buy an actual hard drive plugs into the USB port on your computer. Assuming that your own computer is nothing special about them, and they are all based on Windows ... Then you should have no problem sharing the drive between them

If a computer is a computer work: the majority of companies to disable USB thumb drives these days to avoid loss of critical business data in the wrong hands.

If you are encrypting data using a method of software, you should be able to make a copy of the encryption keys on all your computers.It could be, problems with the encryption key on multiple machines, but that would get special software and out of reach for the answer.

If some computers are based on Windows and some Mac Based ... I do not know to be honest, Macs are supposed to be able to read from USB keys written by Windows machines, but I am sorely lacking in experience with Macs. Ether way it is entirely possible that there could be problems (I can not exclude it).

If you do not go with an external USB hard drive, but will get a removable SATA hard drive bay for each of your systems, then yes, there are problems with the player swapping around all the windows disk as it will 'natives'. With native NTFS and windows places a number key on the disk. You can always reverse the drive around, but the windows would give weird messages it does not recognize the magic number of the drive.
